It's been a busy week, with a few of the big new "house changing" purchases arriving. We've just installed the first of our new double-glazed windows, we started with the smallest window in the kitchen. We had to raise it a little so the worktop will be below it, which has meant the window is now square and has a rather nice porthole look to it. We also (finally - a couple of weeks late) received our big new boiler stove, a Henley Druid 21kw which will heat the main room, the hot water and the radiators. Just need to get it installed and plumbed in now! As you can see from the pictures, Brian has been hard at work laying the floor (handmade terracotta tiles) and plaster boarding the ceiling. The window company also supplied us with some nice ash planks to go over the front windows, and Brian has stripped and stained the parlour door. It's really starting to look like a proper room now, just need to plaster the ceiling and paint the walls and we can get our new sofa.
